The Pirate Shantyman And Bonnie Lass
Travis and Alicia give an upbeat performance including
silly antics and jokes between songs. Their show
includes audience participation and interaction,
comedy, and informative facts about shanties and the
pirate life, all within a kid and family friendly
environment.
Also upon request they can do a kid show called
Pyrate Skool, an interactive show where they teach
kids the basics about being a pirate, sign them up as
members of their crew, and give them pirate patches. A
small treasure hunt is also part of the show depending
on the location.
Travis plays the guitar, mandolin, and sings many
faire favorites, as well as other Celtic, English,
Irish, and Scottish songs, with a particular liking to
shanty songs. Alicia accompanies on vocals and
pennywhistle.
Both Travis and Alicia maintain character out side of
their sets, conversing and interacting with patrons.
Travis travels with his guitar, so they can be sure to
play in the streets. Alicia carries a small treasure
chest filled with ‘Pirate Treasure’ that they hand out
to children in the streets and in their audience. This
is usually a really big hit with kids and parents
alike.
Travis has 15+ years experience playing guitar and
mandolin. With Travis’s 12+ years experience in
performing, and Alicia’s 5+ years, they give a great
stage performance that people of all ages enjoy.
